LIFE AND DEATH

All was silent;
The night was dark;
The only thing heard,
Was the song of the lark.

The soldiers lay
Sprawled on the ground,
Dead as a doornail
All in a mound.
In a pool of blood they lay,
Reflecting the misery of the day.
Now there could be heard
The sobs and cries of their friends so dear.
It was a heart-breaking scene……


Far far away,
As the night evolved into day;
A child was born
At the crack of dawn.
It brought smiles into peoples’ face.
They looked at the child, amazed
At how innocent it was,
And this is surely coz
It was a baby that knew no wrong.
It was a heart-melting scene……


A lark flew by and sat at the window,
The same one that sang when the soldiers were mourned.


The life and death represents the ups and downs of life
And the lark, a person.
A person once born has to die
In the same way, in life we have to face
Happiness and sadness all the same.
So let’s be like the lark
And enjoy life however it may be,
Bright or dark!

THE LITTLE RAY OF SUNLIGHT

A flash of lightning breaks the sky
The air is filled with the crash of thunder
The trees swing from side to side
As the birds in the sky no more glide


Animals and birds move quickly around
As the clouds rip apart and the rain gushed down
It falls fast and thick blurring the docks
It smashes the rafts against the rocks


Suddenly the wind ceases to blow
The rivers continue their slow flow
Then it comes warm and bright
That little ray of sunlight!
